Dealing with the issues of rape

1. Scream as loud as you can.

Rapists often try to frighten their victim by threatening them with a gun or knife. If you yield to such threats they may still go ahead to inflict harm or even murder the victim. Some rape victims are even threatened from safe places into lonely places before they are raped.

2. Don’t be afraid.

The greatest weapon of the rapist is fear. Once that is taken away they are likely to fail in their mission. Never allow their threat to keep you short. When they observe that you are fearless, they are most likely to leave.

3. Fight and Struggle.

Resisting rape, according to an article in this month’s Cosmopolitan, is worthwhile and does not lead to further injury. The article cites a US study of 1.5m rape convictions over a decade which found that women who fought back tripled their chances of escape.

There is no such thing as a cool rape. All rapists intend to do some damage to your life either emotionally or physically so you must struggle and fight.

4. Use Pepper Spray.

In India were rape was at an alarming rate, ladies were empowered with pepper spray to defend themselves against rapist. Just like perfumes or sprays it can destabilize a rapist because most rapists do not always prepare for their crime and they leave behind lousy trails.

5. Inflict Pain on the Rapist.

You may not have any weapon on you but youth teeth and fingers can leave an unforgettable wound on an unarmed rapist. Don’t just keep calm and allow them inflict unforgettable pain into your life.

6. Never Shed Tears.

Contrary to what some ladies think, weeping and crying will fire the beast in a rapist. He is often threatened by your struggle and boldness not your tears. When you cry, you are only telling them that you are weak and that is what they really want from their victim.

7. When You Are Up Report the Rapist.

If a rapist have had his way with you, do not keep quiet about it. Quickly file a police report against the rapist. This will help protect other ladies from rape. Forget about the stigma that is attached to it and try to fight for yourself and the interest of others.

In conclusion, Anyone can be the target of sexual assault, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sexual history, or social class.  There is no stereotypical victim or rapist.

Nearly 85% of all victims of sexual assault knew the person who raped or assaulted them.  Often a situation starts off innocent and fun, but can then very quickly escalate out of control.
